Sportsman (The masses)…those of us with an ATV and a truck or car with a small trailer.

Let’s talk a one-man operation: The GroundHog MAX by BioLogic.  Even though the Groundhog MAX is ½ the width of a normal pull-behind…you are not losing time plowing …you make up for plowing time in speed and maneuverability. I t is also the most cost effective option (saves gas both ATV and truck wise). Your purchase price is less and shipping is less.  I am sure this does not really matter to real sportsmen since money grows on those trees you are hunting in.

OPERATION- GroundHog Max by BioLogic– you can plow 5-8 mph according to how your food plot s laid out. Remember you can use reverse in those tight spots.  Down pressure…the weight of the ATV 700-800 Lbs plus the weight of the rider 200-300lbs sooo this equals approximately a 1000lbs of down pressure on less steel, (2 foot x 1 ft that you a forcing into the ground). Transport mode (discs pointed up) allows you to drive it up on your truck, take it to your property, back it off the truck, take the plow to the most remote area of your property (at the speed of an ATV).

To flip the plow over to plowing position… back up on 4-inch ramps, lock the brake, and scotch the wheels.  Pull one tractor pin and flip the over to plowing mode.  Adjust it down to almost touch the ground.  Put your tractor pin back in and back off the ramps.
Start making looping circles, figure eights, and you can also plow back and forth.
Use reverse only when you have to because it does not plow well going backwards (mostly for maneuverability) and it slows you down with all of the gear shifting. But reverse is irreplaceable on a pulp wood road or a firebreak when you cannot turn around.

No worries about the disc not staying in the ground either because you are riding the plow like a fifth wheel.

BIG PLUS… there is FUN factor involved riding your high dollar ATV.  The Fun part is why you paid for the ATV…right.

I know this sounds to good to be true but more and more savvy sportsmen are using this GroundHog MAX by Biologic.  Naturally people are always going to think bigger is better but you can prove them wrong in about 5 minutes with the versatility of this plow.
Imagine the possibilities of putting in a food plot “way back in a sweet spot” where MATURE BUCKS actually live and you are just putting in a kitchen next to their bedroom.  That trophy may even go into the kitchen during shooting hour’s…maybe even before or after the rut.  IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!!
He sure is not as likely to bumble out into a giant green field unless his hormones are berserk and he is chasing miss-hot-to-trot.

Before we leave someone out let’s don’t forget some other brother in arms that think out side the box to get that food plot in

The Jury Riggers. There are several types of these.

Old school…those with a mule…you can get it where you need to go and it will back up…almost like reverse.   You will have to get over the sweaty smell and the road apples on your own though.  Be sure to have plenty of water on hand too.  But the good new is that mules do come with free gas.  They are not that easy to move from point A to Point B. Beware and check your local codes… the road apples may be considered baiting.

Thinkers…utilizing any and all powers sources that can used for putting in food plots…some are: old jeeps, trucks, off road go carts, zero turn lawnmowers, argos, and golf carts.

The ATVless … go with tillers, walk behind tractors, and hand-jiving with garden tools.  Using the sweat of your brow, a good pair of gloves, and any volunteers that can be drafted.  BioLogic no till comes to mind.

We have all endured at least some of these options to try to lure in deer and turkey into our hunting honey holes.  Whatever it takes to make something green and better your chances while still staying legal.  We also like the idea of helping the overall health of the herd while putting some more mass on the bucks.

Anyway, take my practical options and comparisons for what you think they are worth.

Quality seeds, good soil tests, lime and fertilizer, sweat of he brow, a good plowing option, and the Lord sending a little rain, all adds up to good times outdoors and hopes and dreams of that trophy in your future.  Think green and stay legal.
